Safety First
As a machine manufacturer also serving the food industry, we consider food safety one of our highest priorities. At the same time, we put just as much effort into making our machines safe for operators. Therefore, we’re fully compliant with the EU Machinery Directive. Our CE-compliant machine guidelines and the expertise of our Certified Machinery Safety Experts (CMSE®) support early risk identification, clearly defined safety measures, and consistent compliance verification.

R&D risk assessment in-house
Machine safety is assessed during the machine development process by means of a risk assessment in accordance with the applicable machinery directive. Appropriate measures are defined and implemented accordingly.
- Safety layout & safety check
- Safety hardware validation
- Safety software validation
- Manual
- CE conformity & CE labeling
- Hazard-based risk assessment
Safety check in-house
- Safety is verified internally during commissioning or startup, at the latest during the factory acceptance test of the machine at Soudronic, our subsidiaries, or suppliers.
- Documentation is recorded at Soudronic in the manufacturing qualification system.

Safety check onsite / technical readiness
- Onsite, the safety elements and safety devices included in the Soudronic scope of supply are inspected and approved together with the customer prior to production start.
- A complete safety inspection is mandatory in order to approve the machines/production lines for operation.
- The inspection is performed based on the safety layout. Confirmation is provided by mutual signature on the technical readiness form.
- After successful safety verification, the signed CE declaration of conformity is handed over. From this point onward, the customer is responsible, in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive, for the regular maintenance and inspection of safety components.
Safety check onsite production
- According to the machinery directive, the operator of the machine is responsible for the safety of the installation.
- Active safety elements and safety devices must be inspected periodically by the customer. If required, a safety expert may be consulted. For example, occupational safety at our production site in Switzerland is regularly inspected by Suva.
Safety check onsite during after-sales service
If service technicians identify safety deficiencies during a service assignment, these must be documented in the official customer service report and handed over to the customer before departure. The customer then has the option to have the deficiency corrected.
Certified Machinery Safety Experts (CMSE®)
Our Certified Machinery Safety Experts (CMSE®) support risk assessments and the review of safety concepts, and provide technical guidance to engineering, project management, and service teams. Their expertise supports the consistent application of machinery directive requirements, relevant safety standards, and Soudronic’s internally defined CE guidelines, contributing to compliant and state-of-the-art machine safety throughout the machine lifecycle.

Cyber Security and Safety
Cyber security considers risks related to digital access and connectivity of machines. Measures are applied to protect machines, control systems, and interfaces against unauthorized access, manipulation, and data misuse throughout the machine lifecycle.
