New push pawl system for VAA-K welders

On the VAA-K the can bodies are forwarded from the rollformer to the welding station by ratchet system.

The previous version of the ratchet system has not proved ideal under all production conditions. Especially if there was heavy soiling or in damp climatic conditions the wear of the ratchet bearing surfaces and brake segments of the ratchets was too high. Frequent malfunctions and production hop-ups were the result.

For this reason, Soudronic has developed a new ratchet system in which the movement of the ratchets is positively driven. This precludes the possibility of malfunctioning of the ratchets.

This new ratchet system can be retrofitted to all VAA-K machines.

Advantages

  • Drastically reduced wear
  • No malfunctioning of the ratchets
  • Higher efficiency
  • Fewer jams
